Cie. BewegGrund Performance in Winterthur
Thrilled about the start of what turns out to be a bit of an autumn tour with Cie.

Dance Unstuck with GDance, 15-20 August
This is a GDance (Gloucester) project with the main goal to create access to ballet training for disabled dancers. This was a five day research process working with four dancers to establish an accessible, shared and overlapping working praxis based on the traditional ballet class format and vocabulary. Leading questions were:
What is the form, function or intention of the movement?
Can we generate new material that is consistent with the characteristics of ballet?
The project was hosted in the studio of Ballet Cymru in Newport, Wales. The collaborating dancers were Suzie Birchwood (independent dancer and Artistic Director ActOne ArtsBase), Krystal Lowe (Ballet Cymru), Victoria Malin (independent dancer, Candoco Artist) and Robbie Moorecroft (Ballet Cymru). Project manager was Louise Brown from GDance.
Project with YDance Glasgow
By invitation of YDance Glasgow, working with the full company of 22 dancers from Project Y 2015, 20 - 24 July The piece Parts came together over five days of intensive rehearsals. Set to the Arietta of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 32 the piece worked with the idea of parts as body parts as well as moving from individual to partners and groups, performing your part. The piece was programmed alongside works by Yael Flexer, Anna Kenrick and Errol White & Davina Givan. The company toured to Glasgow, Greenock, Aberdeen and Stirling. I had the great pleasure to see the performance at the Tramway in Glasgow and witness the personal growth of the dancers and their dedication to performing.
